Job Description

The SAP Basis Architect provides leadership and technical support for SAP Basis systems across a Business Unit or enterprise – wide Stericycle. This senior level position establishes standards and requirements for enhancements and implements solutions for performance monitoring and configuration. Responsibilities include all infrastructure design and administration and higher level requirements and specifications will be lead by this individual.
Key Position Activities
Leads, participates or coordinates SAP infrastructure projects and technology implementations
Reviews current standards and establishes ongoing modifications for SAP requirements for implementations and performance management
Provides subject matter expert technical solutions and hands on management of configurations
Manages configurations and implementations using Unix scripting, database creations, migrations, system sizing, systems configurations, storage management, database backups as needed.
Server and network set up, monitoring, design and SAP implementation
Creates documentation for various stages of design, planning, implementation and support of infrastructure services
Attends weekly team meetings to review outstanding issues and/or to discuss new trends or projects.
Provide training, mentorship and ongoing support of SAP architecture best practices to all IT stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Required (including certifications and/or software requirements for the position):
• Education equivalent Bachelors degree or the equivalent in related work experience, including six or more years of related experience providing network and infrastructure design/support. SAP Certification re-quired.
• At least 7 years of experience in SAP with progressive responsibility and influence.
• Broad technology knowledge of major retail applications, SOA/middleware and platform vendors.
• Demonstrated experience in setting and influencing company-wide strategic architecture/technical direc-tion.
• The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the management of the SAP environment. The responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system. The SAP Basis Administrator collaborates to resolve SAP transport, Performance Tuning suggestions and source code problems. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP & Oracle systems.
• Perform administration of SAP software application products, including SAP Business & Enterprise solutions, ECC, BW, CRM, Portal, Solution Manager and other SAP software solutions. Provide technical support and troubleshoot software application related issues
• Executing daily operational activities related to the SAP environment including object transports, set-up/configuration, operational SAP monitoring, troubleshooting and error handling, performance/tuning, backups, applying Support Packages, installation of add-on software components and problem determina-tion/resolution.
• The SAP Basis Architect must possess the ability to analyze situations and provide problem resolution.
Technical skills required:
• Experience in SAP Migrations to HANA using latest tools like DMO and SUM
• Experience Configuring and maintaining SAP Solution Manager & CHARM
• Experience with Unix scripting, database creations, migrations, system sizing, systems configurations, stor-age management, database backups, recovery and DR for SAP systems is a plus
• Experience performing administration of SAP software application products, including SAP Business & En-terprise solutions, ECC, BW, CRM, Portal, Solution Manager and other SAP software solutions. Provide technical support and troubleshooting software application related issues.
