Job Description


This position contributes to the success of Stericycle by providing Telephony solutions and support to the call center and the business enterprise. The individual is responsible for, but not limited to, design and advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex telecommunications systems, the integration of new communications software and/or hardware technologies, systems application programming and operations functions. Position will have an architectural level knowledge of telephony technologies to contribute to planning and design of various telecommunications solutions. The ability to deploy, monitor, operate, and administers telecommunications platforms and carrier systems to ensure that solutions perform in a manner which best meets business needs. Must be able to serve in an “on-call” schedule by carrying company-provided cell phone. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Engineers, designs, develops, implements, and enhances telecommunications network infrastructure and related systems, and other communications solutions in response to business needs. Designs, documents, develop and administer Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications, call vectoring call recordings and complex intelligent call routing configurations used in multi-media call centers throughout the enterprise Monitors voice, fax and data communications environment and application behavior to ensure integrity, reliability, and performance. Analyzes business, telecommunications platforms and carrier utilization trends tomake appropriate design and implementation recommendations to scale the telecommunications architecture. Has significant carrier related expertise and works closely with internal and external technical teams including the telecom carriers (Quest, XO, Paetec, AT&T & Verizon, Sprint, TW Telecom, etc.) to resolve telephony issues & new services. Designs, documents, develop and administer the RightFax system. Provides Tier 3+ technical issue resolution, training, and guidance in their area of Telecommunications and Call Center support included large VoIP Call Center environments.

Job Requirements


Education equivalent to BA/BS degree in Computer Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related technical discipline. Technical skills required: • 10 + years Implementing and configuring telecommunications platforms including. • 10 + years of hands-on experience in supporting Call Center Services and Voice Response (IVR) systems • 10 + experience in supporting mission-critical 24x7 Telecommunication services • Understanding of Telephone Company & Carrier procedures, troubleshooting and documentation • Knowledge of telecom principals and terminology including TDM & SIP carrier services DID’s Toll Free numbers, LATA OCN and NPA-NXX call routing, etc. • Strong telephony troubleshooting skills Technical skills preferred: • Knowledge of Enterprise Class Avaya Communication Manager v. 6, Interactive Intelligence CIC. • Knowledge of Amtelco, Cisco & Avaya call center telephony platforms. • Knowledge of IP networking, VoIP, QOS, routing, MPLS, etc. • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as SQL, Voice XML • Hands-on experience and working knowledge of Windows, Unix server operating systems. Working knowledge and experience in support of various Call Center applications including but not limited to Avaya CMS, eCAS, Verint Audiolog, etc.
