Position Purpose:

The Desktop Engineering Lead is accountable for platform/product management.  This position  is responsible for Microsoft Platforms, Office 365 and Endpoint, vision setting, product strategy, and product road mapping.  The role facilitates the management of all business, functional, and technical requirements for the product suite, and directs/governs the application of the technology used.  This role is accountable for enterprise services including, but not limited to, asset lifecycle, endpoint management, mobile device management, enterprise collaboration, and technologies supporting directory listings, domains, backup and recovery.

Key Job Activities:

  • For each enterprise service, establish platform vision and strategies, and drive creation of multi-year roadmaps that will feed annual project portfolio planning.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology and business unit personnel to ensure alignment on enterprise service direction, and platforms that support them.
  • Advocate for, promote, and consult on the use of existing platform functionality to meet current business challenges.
  • Design and implement solutions per agreed product roadmaps and/or business requirements within agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture on Product Roadmaps, and plan with IT and business for adoption of future functionality as it is available.
  • Establish key metrics needed to formulate a continuous improvement product culture.
  • Establish strong partnerships with 3rd party vendors/suppliers, leverage those partnerships to establish roadmaps as needed, and hold them accountable to high quality products and services in use.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Education:

Preferred Education: in Bachelors or Equivalent

Experience (North America):

  • Bachelors or equivalent
  • 7-10 Years of Experience, preferably in Information Technology
