Position Purpose:

The Compensation Analyst Sr will work with the Compensation and Total Rewards team to analyze and administer compensation plans and programs by completing and contributing to efforts such as job evaluations, market pricing analyses, salary survey participation, merit increase cycles, and salary structure maintenance. The Sr Analyst will also participate with the team in initiatives to ensure that compensation plans and programs support the organization's strategic objectives and meet all legal requirements.  The goal of the Compensation Analyst Sr is to support the organization by ensuring that the pay rates for our roles are both market competitive and internally equitable in all areas of compensation.

Key Job Activities:

  • Analyze and conduct market analyses, benchmark jobs to external survey data, assess internal equity, and communicate findings and recommendations to managers and human resource business partners.
  • Conduct job evaluations according to the work that the incumbent(s) perform. Maintain job documentation library ensuring that the most recent job descriptions are on file.  For new or revised positions, determine and recommend appropriate titles, levels, and bonus targets, in accordance with company guidelines, along with other job attributes.
  • As a member of the Compensation team, collaborate with the team in leading and administering the annual merit review cycle in SuccessFactors, which includes but is not limited to data-cleansing, system testing, writing and reviewing communications, conducting manager training, answering questions, trouble-shooting issues during the merit cycle, obtaining recommendations and approvals for exceptional situations, and generating ad hoc letters for team members who cannot participate in the automated merit process.
  • Work with the Compensation, HRIS and payroll teams to process payment of salary increases on an accurate and timely basis. 
  • Identify and participate in salary surveys. Monitor best practices and trends as it related to compensation programs. Update, maintain and utilize market pricing software when preparing analyses.
  • Coordinate efforts with Legal, Compliance and other business partners to conduct data and cost analyses to be used in response to employee concerns and in support of collective bargaining responses.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing compensation.
  • Research and monitor FLSA compliance.
  • Communicate risks and impact to management and human resource generalists as necessary.
  • Ensure the accurate coding of all positions in the HRIS system in relation to EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) and Affirmative Action reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new compensation plans, processes, and communication tools.
  • Work closely with HRIS as it relates to compensation aspects of the system.  
  • Support and participate in compensation-related system enhancements and on-going maintenance activities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Education:

Required Education: in Bachelors

Experience (North America):

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, business administration or related field.
  • 5 or more years of compensation related experience required.
  • Certified compensation professional with a designated CCP preferred.
  • Systems experience in Success Factors, ADP and a Compensation Market Data Software system i.e., CompAnalyst preferred.
  • Knowledge - strong working knowledge of compensation programs.  Must demonstrate sound knowledge of job evaluations, market analysis, bonus and other pay programs, and state and local laws/regulations.
  • Analytical - strong analytical skills; demonstrates the ability to perform routine to moderately complex compensation-related analysis and make recommendations in support of analysis.
  • Ability to learn and understand Company organizational structures. quickly and adapt to changing environments.  Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Advanced proficiency using MS Office Suites (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).  Must be able to perform complex functions within Excel in order to manipulate and calculate data for analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex concepts and technical issues.
