Position Purpose:

Payroll tax subject matter expert, responsible for all payroll tax matters globally. Liaise with payroll leadership and finance to ensure company compliance in the area of payroll taxes and maximize any potential credits and incentives. Audit, review and analyze company payroll tax deposits and returns for federal, state, and local agencies.  Research and resolve tax notices and mitigate potential penalties and interest.  Assist in management of overall payroll responsibilities for processing pay in an accurate and efficient fashion.

Key Job Activities:

•    Analyze payroll information used to prepare federal, state, and local withholding and unemployment returns. 
•    Perform balancing and reconciliation of payroll taxes paid, and tax returns prepared 
•    Understand all regulatory requirements ensuring company compliance in filings, reporting and general operations
•    Plan, organize, and manage the process of US & global payroll taxes, reconciling to payroll reports 
•    Recommend, develop, write, and assist in implementing policies and procedures 
•    Ensure payroll tax deposits and returns filed by 3rd party vendor are completed and compliant with federal, state, and local tax laws.
•    Research and resolve tax notices and discrepancies in a timely manner.  This includes notices associated with acquisitions.
•    Maintain current knowledge of payroll tax laws and research complex tax issues as needed.
•    Support Payroll operations with regular communications of payroll tax procedures to ensure compliance.  This includes maintenance of SOPs used by HR Data Management as well as Payroll.

•    Document all processes; identify process and system improvements to increase efficiency.
•    Reconciliation of W-2s and prepare year end and quarter end tax audits.
•    Responsible for all internal audit processes and any audit requests.

•    Payroll audit and payroll project support (as needed)
•    Support all acquisition and divestiture efforts

Preferred Education: in Bachelors or Equivalent
Experience (North America & LATAM):

•    Bachelor of Accounting or Human resources or equivalent
•    MasterTax (Payroll Tax Processing System) experience preferred
•    Five or more years of experience in global payroll tax, demonstrating good knowledge of tax law compliance and payroll tax accounting.  Inclusive of experience filing returns manually.  
•    Experience working through mergers and acquisitions
•    Three or more years’ experience with ADP a plus
