Position Purpose:

The Product Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing product development strategies that deliver top and bottom-line value to Stericycle’s service portfolio.   To drive innovation and profitability for this book of business, the product manager will leverage deep understanding of the segment (client needs, competitors, regulatory environment), detailed data analysis, knowledge of Stericycle’s product and service capabilities, and input from internal stakeholders.


The Responsibilities:

•    Collaborate with all departments and levels of the organization to continuously assess and enhance the viability and profitability of Stericycle’s domestic and international service portfolio, with a primary but not exclusive focus on the U.S. market.  Design and execute recommendations for product development and optimization
•    Lead cross-functional teams to execute product development and marketing strategies.  Includes championing process and technology initiatives; improving the customer experience and journey; and participating in business transformation
•    Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of market/segment needs and trends through competitive research, strategic partnerships, and cultivating relationships with key customers and industry contacts
•    Support international product development efforts for Stericycle’s service portfolio
•    Lead financial long-range planning and serve as a subject matter expert to all departments within the organization for assigned markets, products and customer segments
•    Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned


This is a HYBRID position. Must be flexible to work from our Bannockburn, IL office and may work from home!


Experience and Experience:

•    Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Business - Marketing, Management, Finance, Product Development, or related degree 
•    Five or more years of experience in product management, marketing communications, or the equivalent in related work experience 
•    Direct experience with market research, voice of customer, product development, and project management across multiple industries and customer segments
•    Fluency directing complex cross-functional and inter-departmental initiatives within large groups that require consensus from multiple stakeholders
•    Experience in general brand management and aligning products and services to customer needs through continuous improvement and innovation

•    Demonstrates the ability to present information in a clear, concise, and organized manner; listens to others to obtain information
•    Leads cross-functional projects across departments, including IT/technology initiatives
•    Demonstrates the ability to manage own time, activities, and resources in a fast-paced environment.  Identify specific activities required to accomplish objectives, rank them in order of importance, and take action to achieve desired results.  Prioritize multiple activities/projects and consistently meet deadlines
•    Demonstrates the ability to cooperate with others on projects to ensure alignment of goals, expectations, and requirement.  Ability to successfully work with others and competing priorities to acquire key support to develop final product; confront and resolve disagreements while maintaining relationships
•    Ability to identify key information required to make decisions, to analyze complex data and to come to conclusions based on campaign performance
•    Ability to forecast program impact and expenses with calculated ROI as well as post-monitoring of program to assess actual results
•    Strength in project management including track record for delivering upon milestones and timelines
•    Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong analytical skills, including comfort with a data-driven approach to prioritization and product management
•    Experience navigating within a CRM system beneficial
•    Demonstrates emotional intelligence to bring parties with different perspectives into agreement
•    Demonstrates enthusiasm about good user/customer experience
