Position Purpose:

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient handling, processing, shipping and receiving, and ware-housing of regulated specialty waste. Ensures the warehouse consistently meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner.

-Supervise the operation and team members of the specialty waste warehouse

o Loading and unloading of trucks through use of forklift and other equipment
o Completion of federal manifests and internal combination bills
o Computerized tracking of product
o Completion of required reports and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
o Scheduling of employees, employee hours, tracking of employee hours and schedules
o Employee performance appraisals and recommendations for increases or promotions
o Scheduling and supervision of temporary staff
o Co-ordination of contractors.

-Operation of general equipment and specific equipment to Specialized waste stream

-General organization of the warehouse

-General cleaning and preventive maintenance

-Some lifting required

-Responsible for the general operation of the warehouse and facility as required.

-Other related duties may be added as required.

Regular contact with Stericycle warehouse employees in the processing of the waste. 

Occasional contact with external inspectors and maintenance repair personnel. 

Assist in managing warehouse/transfer station to minimize productivity costs and equipment costs.

Reporting indirectly to this position may be one or more Warehouse Workers and/or Material Handlers. 

Non-exempt status identified due to nature of responsibilities. 

The Plant Supervisor I is used in smaller Plants where supervision is not the majority of their responsibilities. 

The Plant Supervisor I performs the work of a Plant Worker more frequently than supervising a staff of Plant Workers.

Experience (EMEAA):
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Three or more years related experience or training in a plant or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact. One or more years of experience managing others. 

Demonstrates knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills.

Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.

Demonstrates the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift.

Other (i.e. physical requirements, travel, etc. that is not covered above:

Must be able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. 
Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold. 

Temperatures above 100 degrees F for periods of more than one hour. (South and Southeastern part of the country). 

Temperatures below 32 degrees F for period of more than one hour. (North and North-east part of the country). 

Must be able to work any scheduled shift during a 24-hour work day; 7 days per week, as needed, to monitor, train, address issues, or cover specific shift.
