Title:  Management Trainee

Position Purpose:

The Management Trainee team member will participate in a leadership program developed by Stericycle in order to train early in career team members in the critical areas and skills of leaders within the SCS Stericycle business unit. In each rotation the management trainee will receive hands on experience of the skills required to manage each function. They will also participate in critical people manager activities such as hiring, interviewing, performance review, performance feedback, and presentation. The MT will spend 75% of their time in a supervisory capacity in the SCS Transportation and Plant operation.

Key Job Activities:

1) Orientation: Understand, communicate and reinforce the Stericycle culture, policies and procedures, Code of conduct, and overall Stericycle business divisions.

2) Transportation Supervisor Rotation: Role is to drive and lead the branch team members in the transportation division. Support Drivers/CSRs and resolve any truck issues. Responsible for dealing with customers and resolving issues appropriately. Lead and manage the AM/PM Check-in process. Manage and maintain the daily vehicle requirements and DOT regulations. Responsible for monitoring and auctioning issues raised in the Net Promoter program and On-time reports. Partner with Transportation Manager/Supervisor/Dispatch. Lead and monitor health and safety initiatives at the branch. Review and action corporate initiatives and monitor key reports that support business success.

3) CE/OA/CI Administration Rotation: Understand and manage paperwork flow, Federal/State/Local regulations, Impact of Transportation and Plant on billing/reporting, Work with Regional Business Accountant. Work with CE team and Safety/Security/ Compliance on cross-functional initiatives and projects. Lead a CI event in your assigned region.

4) Sales Associate Rotation: As a sales team member you will be responsible for managing a territory and applying the Sales concept you are trained on. Understand and apply the leadership skills trained on with the DSM. Understanding of the Sales process and techniques, new account onboarding and installation, familiarity with all products and how to present those to customers, how to phone block and cold call, sales key performance indicators, and exposure to hands on selling in the field.

5) Plant Supervisor Rotation: Role is to drive and lead the branch and have a hands-on understanding of inputs/outputs for HCS/SMS processing and document destruction businesses. Understand process flow and ways to impact and improve, Leadership training: responsible for a small team. Understand system reporting functions.
