Title:  Strategic Pricing Analyst

Position Purpose:

The Strategic Pricing Analyst partners with Sales, marketing, contract administration to analyze and prepare pricing for sales proposals within the Environmental Solutions (ESOL) business unit. Position coordinates conversations with the Sales Team, Contracts Administration and Pricing Team to collect relevant information and gain appropriate approvals for the proposal.  The proposal signature process, contract setup, and account price setup will then be managed through Salesforce.com by this position.

 

Key Job Activities:

 

1. Process sales proposals through pricing model templates:
a. Evaluate deal pricing structures to ensure fit with company objectives. Effectively evaluate deal economics of trade-offs between price and incremental account penetration via Tier level pricing
b. Model scenarios and calculate impact of changes to individual terms and pricing scenarios.
c. Collect, analyze and report of status of major agreements in the contract cycle.
d. Maintain documentation of approved contract proposals and reconcile requested approved proposals with executed contracts.


2. Compile analytical data to drive decisions:
a. Provide regular and ad hoc pricing analysis and reporting for management.
b. Perform analysis and implement improvements to financial models to improve accuracy.
c. Perform margin and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives, as required.
d. Partner with Sales Team by creating models of deal scenarios and recommending pricing alternatives and comprehensive proposals.

 

3. Communication:
a. Participate in regular calls with sales team to discuss deals in various stages of the sales cycle.
b. Participate in conversations providing recommendations to Sales Teams to develop offers and customer messaging.
c. Propose and execute process improvements to existing pricing process workflows.

d. Follow written and verbal instructions for processes and procedures.  Assist in ensuring work instructions are clear and up-to-date.

 

Position Requirements:
• Education equivalent to Bachelor’s degree, with emphasis in Business or Financial studies or the equivalent in related work experience.
• One or more years of progressively responsible pricing experience, sales experience, or customer service experience.
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills. Must be able to analyze financial data.  Must be able to effectively present pricing information and analysis to management and senior leadership if required.
• Excellent computer skills required. Requires expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated excellent math skills and strong attention to detail are required to be successful in this position.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills in the English language.
