Position Purpose:

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Lake City, GA!  The Maintenance Technician performs all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all buildings and grounds, and all plant machinery and equipment.

The Maintenance Tech also promotes, supports, & exercises strict adherence to Stericycle’s commitment to Safety in performance of duties, along with reporting and repairing any unsafe conditions.

**Position will train on 1st shift however working shift after training will be: 5:00pm - 3:30am**

Key Job Activities:

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


•    High School Diploma or equivalent.
•    Preferred Associates Degree or higher. 
•    4+ years of experience, preferably in:
o    Must have experience with the use of forklifts, aerial-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities.
o    Must have experience with the performance of LOTO out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities.
o    Must have hands on maintenance experience.

Licenses and Require Competencies:

•    Possession of boiler, welding, or electrical certification or license is helpful.
•    Demonstrates the ability to ask questions and gather information in order to identify problems and repair or arrange for repair of machine.  
•    Demonstrates the ability to think critically and remain calm during stressful situations.
•    Capable of working collaboratively in teams and alone.
•    Capable of providing feedback and participating in continuous improvement initiatives (Cause Analysis, Proactive solutions, threat detection, etc.)
•    Demonstrates the ability to function independently and resolve problems without direction
