Position Purpose:

The Payroll Manager role fulfills the management and proper administration of the payroll function and requires knowledge of payrolls across 8 European countries in which Stericycle operates.

Key Job Activities:

Manages payroll team.
Manages relationship with multiple payroll vendors ensuring services are provided according to service level agreements & local laws & regulations.
Manages & leads on payroll integration projects in countries where multiple payrolls are in operation to introduce efficiencies & minimize costs & risk.
Project management skills are utilized to manage deliverables through all phases of a project lifecycle, from establishing requirements through to project closing.
Partners with internal & external audit to ensure that payroll processes meet SOX & local legislative requirements.
Contributes & manages implementation of policies & procedures to ensure efficiency & effectiveness of operation. 
Oversees the accurate & timely processing of the payroll cycles across Europe including: calculating & processing pay data; administering bonus & commission payments; processing manual bank wires, severance, & lieu of notice payments; ensuring accurate calculation of source deductions & benefits.
Financial & calendar year-end processing & reporting as required across Europe payrolls.
Responsible for the interpretation of & compliance with applicable payroll tax laws & company policies.
Provide timely information to the Finance & Accounting teams for financial reporting & audits. 
Oversees data collection activities to ensure timely & accurate processing of time related & employee master data changes.
Support in managing local Time & Attendance systems
Identifies procedures & processing problems, maintains an on-going review of systems & recommends & implements changes as appropriate.
Respond to all payroll requests internally & externally in a timely manner.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy of information & reconciliation of data across systems (payroll, benefits, HCM, employee files) ensuring all employee records comply with company policies & legislation to maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
Acts as Subject Matter Expert for all payroll-related processes

Experience (EMEAA):

  • CIPP qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and payroll procedures/applications.
  • Computerized payroll experience with multiple interfaces – familiarity with ADP preferred.
  • European payroll experience required.
