Position Purpose:

Optimization of daily, weekly, and monthly International Fleet engineering. Create and Analyze reporting of results, trends, and make suggestions for field operational changes. Track and explain changes from month to month.

Key Job Activities:

Commercial Oversight & Budget Management
• Commercial Oversight & Budget Management for all vehicle lease and maintenance suppliers. 
• Own the maintenance financial performance, ensuring actual spending aligns with contract budgets and company targets.
• Monitor contract-level profitability and identify patterns of over- or underperformance.
• Build and implement tools and dashboards to track and forecast spend vs. budget.
• Collaborate with finance and leadership to report on key financial metrics.

Process Efficiency & Departmental Review
• Analyse current procedures across the lease/maintenance providers to identify inefficiencies and cost leakages.
• Drive implementation of best practices, SOPs, and cross-team accountability.
• Support better use of systems and data to drive efficiency and margin improvement.

Vendor Commercial Performance
• Manage all vendors and associated fleet suppliers and lead on any fleet maintenance vendor meetings. 
• Work with the Head of Fleet Services to ensure vendor agreements are commercially viable.
• Support vendor reviews and performance management with a commercial lens.
• Influence pricing, rates, and scope to ensure value for money across the vendor network.

Product Development & Pricing
• Support development and pricing of value-added maintenance products (e.g. TPMS, diagnostics, breakdown support).
• Contribute to internal commercial strategy for how maintenance services are packaged and offered to operations.
• Feed data and insights into how maintenance risk is priced into new leasing/purchased vehicle contracts.

Collaboration & Influence
• Work closely with the Head of Fleet Services to align financial goals with operational reality.
• Support the leadership team in preparing and presenting commercial reports, risk profiles, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Help shape the department's commercial roadmap as we invest in technology and scale up capacity.
• Performs other related duties as required or requested. This includes but is not limited to providing support to operations and / or other teams and special projects as needed.
 

Education:

Experience (North America & LATAM):

Degree level in Fleet engineering or in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Business, or a related experience equivalent. 
Minimum of Five years of experience in logistics/transportation/engineering management.
Background in fleet management and coordinating initiatives within Transportation. 
Excellent analytical and computer skills with experience utilizing analytical tools and databases 
Strong exposure to P&L responsibility, cost tracking, and process improvement.

Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.  Adapt at learning new technical skills and software quickly.
The person will be a highly motivated individual with a commercial awareness, competent financial knowledge, and extensive operational experience.
An excellent communicator.
Outstanding people skills with ability to build up relationships at a variety of levels both internally and externally.
A proactive disciplined organised self-starter who can work unsupervised and recognise the importance of working as a team.
Exposure to tools such as Excel, Power BI, or ERP/reporting systems, Six Sigma, Lean, or process improvement experience is a plus.
Transport manager CPC is a plus. 
General waste industry knowledge is a plus.

This is not a technical fleet maintenance role. The ideal candidate may come from transport or engineering, but must be comfortable operating in a complex, service-led business with tight margins and strong procedural requirements.
