We are seeking a Part-time On-Site Medical Waste Container Collector who will visit 2 healthcare facilities each Monday, providing on-site placement and collection of Stericycle waste containers (Sharps, Rx, Haz, etc.) throughout these facilities. This is a physically strenuous role involving lifting, pushing and pulling heavy carts and extensive walking throughout the hospitals. Although customer-facing, the person in this role will primarily work independently and will therefore need to be self-motivated and dependable. Reliable transportation is required, and all miles driven between the 2 facilities (approximately 30 miles) will be reimbursed at $.58 per mile, and the time it takes to drive between faciliites (approximately 45 minutes) is also paid at the hourly rate.

 

This is a part-time position working Mondays from 6am-12noon (estimated end time) to total approximately 6 hours each week. The facilities being serviced are Sonora Regional Hospital in Sonora (3-4 hours each Monday) and Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas (1-1 1/2 hours each Monday). Eventually a 3rd hospital will be added to this schedule, Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, which will bring the weekly hours to approximately 20 per week and a total of 3 work days. As mentioned, mileage (approximately 30 miles) and time paid driving between facilities (approximately 45 minutes) are paid. Immunizations and credentialing will possibly be required based on customer requirements.

Key Job Activities:

1) Visits customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs and services, including but not limited to Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste and Document Shredding.

2) Interacts professionally with on site customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.

3) Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule.

4) Communicates duty status on a defined schedule.

5) Performs other related duties as required or requested.
