The Shop Worker/Route Driver is responsible for warehouise duties and route driver duties as described below. The person in this role will be responsible for servicing assigned accounts in the most professional way, ensuring that customers’ needs are met on a continual basis for various waste pickup and supply delivery. This role will always provide the highest level of customer service possible. All Company assigned vehicles are equipped with camera telematics which include inside and outside cameras.  In addition, all vehicles are equipped with ELD (electronic logging device) and GPS (global positioning system).

 

Schedule: Fulltime, 1st shift, 4x10, Tuesday-Friday starting at 3:30am (when covering for other drivers start time could vary and a 5th day may be needed). Will work in the shop Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and will drive a route on Fridays. Will also cover routes as needed, possibly 12-16 weeks per year.

Key Job Activities:

Shop Worker

  • Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory.
  • Builds and consolidates carts and boxes.
  • Cleans and organizes shop.
  • Miscellaneous projects and improvements in the shop.
  • Helps drivers and dispatch as needed.

 

1 day Route Driver

  • Manages assigned routes ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Required to unload trucks at various Stericycle and customer sites; including ensure securing of waste.
  • Ensures that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing. Ensures DOT Driver Log is completed, if applicable.
  • Communicates with Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding any change to route pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day.

 

Back-Up Driver

  • Covers routes as needed, could be 12-16 weeks per year total.

Experience (North America & LATAM):

  • Required years of experience: 0-1 year.
  • Vehicle(s) driven: 26' box trucks.
  • Current driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  • Will possibly require mandatory immunizations and credentialing, based on customer requirements.
