Position Purpose:

The Security & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, rolling out and maintaining corporate security policies, procedures and working practices for Stericycle which are consistent with North America and International ISO standards but aligned with relevant document destruction regulations, and all other Local, State and Federal laws. Travel is required at 70%, including International locations.

The Responsibilities
• Respond to and manage security incidents involving Stericycle Team Members as needed and on short notice including organize emergency response and providing updates to senior and executive management
• Assist with development and updates of security policies and procedures for Stericycle as they fall under an International Global Security Policy
• Drive continual improvement of the security program through the development of comprehensive security training and support materials for all locations in scope. Material will be closely aligned with corporate objectives and comply with relevant security programs, organizations and local, state and federal laws
• Audit Stericycle facilities for security and EHS related corporate audit procedures; including but not limited to SIT (document destruction locations), HSC (Healthcare locations), Incinerator, all corporate offices and others designated by Stericycle Management
• Conduct investigations of all security incidents, including the determination of root cause and implementation of corrective action plans. Review all other incidents to identify underlying trends and develop action plans
• Act as a subject matter expect for security issues for all regions within scope; supporting field based EHS teams, operations and commercial functions
• Compile analysis on incident trends, complaints relating to security and customer feedback to drive improvements within the Security program
• Assist with scheduling outside security with immediate need services for security incidents
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned


 

Education:

Preferred Education: in Bachelors or Equivalent

Experience (North America & LATAM):

• Bachelor’s level degree or similar education and experience or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of Security Management within a regulated environment, document destruction or ISO security regulations
• Bi-Lingual in either French-Canadian, Portuguese or Spanish a plus!

 

Licenses and Required Competencies
• Required: Certifications related to security or document destruction, US Passport
• Preferred: Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Destruction Specialists (CSDS), or other related security designation
