Job Description

Under general direction, this position is responsible for Department reporting and preparation of financial accruals and account reconciliations. Safeguards company assets and maintains internal controls in com-pliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Assist in developing and maintaining department measurements and work on ad-hoc projects, as requested.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Analyzes and compiles clean, accurate and reliable financial information related to the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations (including appropriate supporting IPE). Prepares and maintains accounting transactions in compliance with the companies internal controls policies. Performs various financial statement variance analyses such as month over month fluctuations, and Actual vs. Forecast. Annual gross revenues for regions -$200M+, Gross Assets $60M+.

2. Prepares and communicates monthly financial statements, ad-hoc reports, graphics, schedules and statistical reports in a timely manner. 

-Maintains a direct line of communication with Director of Finance in coordinating the month-end close process. 

-Interprets and guides financial report users to ensure their understanding of financial statements and reports.   

-Provides timely feedback to inquiries from department managers, as well as the Director of Finance.

3. Reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts (prepaid accounts, Internally developed software, accrual accounts, etc.).  Works in conjunction with the corresponding department to ensure the accuracy of data in the reconciliations.

4. Assists with internal and external audits.

5. Performs other related duties or projects as required or requested.

Job Requirements

Education equivalent to BA, BS Degree in Finance/Accounting. Masters in Accounting/MBA/CPA is strongly preferred. Or the equivalent in work related experience, demonstrating knowledge of the month-end clos-ing process, general ledger accounts, and financial statements. Demonstrates strong knowledge of Sequel Server (SQL) or other company supported report writers. Two or more years of accounting experience required, demonstrating general accounting principles and practices. Experience in a team lead/senior role is a plus. Demonstrates an understanding of GAAP and demonstrates the ability to proficiently interpret, apply and explain GAAP to others. Demonstrates a general knowledge of basic accounting process flows and con-cepts. Demonstrates the ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate re-ports.
