Job Description


The Fleet Maint & Assembly Tech position maintains a location/region’s fleet through preventative maintenance, repair and refurbishing of on-site Shredding trucks. This position primarily deals with maintenance, safety and upgrading older equipment through a refurbishment program. This position is a member of the operations team and has daily interactions with internal and external vendors.

1. Ensure all company vehicles and equipment is maintained to meet safety and reliability standards.

2. Maintains all documentation of preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, licenses, and required company paperwork as required per corporate policy

3. Maintains a regular schedule for inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on company vehicles.

4. Maintains repair shop and works in a clean, safe, and secure manner. Ensures all materials are kept and stored in a suitable location and ensures all safety precautions are met.

5. Ensures the use of all hand tools, power tools, cutting, welding equipment, and all other equipment is operated in a safe manner.

6. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Shredder components and ancillary components of shredder for on-site vehicles. Also perform minor chassis repairs as needed such as lights, electrical components, mirrors, and fluid and safety checks.

7. Evaluate Shredding components to determine forward progress on refurbishing equipment. This includes identifying and replacing worn parts and components as needed

8. Perform repairs to shredder bodies as needed that may include door replacements, roof replacements, fiberglass repair and replacements to sides and floor replacements

9. Maintains required level of parts inventory.

Job Requirements


• High school Diploma/GED equivalent required.

• 1 year of mechanical/vehicle maintenance experience required.

• CDL class B license preferred

• Cutting, welding and minor fabrication skills preferred

• Truck body repair skills preferred

• Knowledge of walking floors, lift gates and hydraulics a plus
