Position Purpose:
Key Job Activities:
- To effectively run the plant and associated equipment using the resources available on his/her shift and ensure the team members maintain productivity standards in all phases of their operations. Review shift productivity to identify maximum efficiencies and operational opportunities, whilst ensuring they perform their tasks safely while utilizing all PPE and other safety equipment at all times.
- Manages and monitors daily performance of their own team, directly or within guidance, providing feedback (including growth opportunities). Influence hiring and firing decisions and disciplinary procedures.
- Completing the day-to-day paperwork for their own shift. This will include but not limited to Overtime/Holidays/Purchase Ordering/ADP/Success factors/Sickness/return to works/staff admin issues/requirements are all completed/ recruitment/interviews and onboarding.
- Shift site inspections carried out, including work safe observations and reporting of good catches as well as resolving good catches, updating reporting systems.
- Review handover from previous shift for all areas. Ensure resource distribution plan for shift in place/amend as necessary. Complete the shifts hand over report and KPI reporting.
- Deliver Training Programs, Toolbox Talks and Meetings for their own shifts. To provide assistance with breakdown/defect repairs and or support to Maintenance Engineers, acting immediately and effectively to minimize the loss of plant availability.
- Coordinates with maintenance concerning shutdown scheduling and maintenance needs. Works directly with the Facility Manager and the other shift team leaders to identify opportunities for operational improvements as well as identifying short term and long-term opportunities. Assisting with the coordination of contractors as required.
Education:
Experience:
Five or more years of supervisor experience in plant operations environment, demonstrating the ability to manage people in a manufacturing/processing environment.
Demonstrates the ability to provide safe and regulatory compliant work conditions for all team members.
Demonstrates knowledge and the ability to stay abreast of applicable regulations and codes, as they apply to the waste industry and those specific to area of responsibility.
Demonstrates knowledge around continuous improvement practices
Demonstrates sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to input, monitor and manipulate data within these applications.
Demonstrates extensive experience with waste heat recovery to include waste heat boilers, heat exchangers, steam turbines/generators or similar high-speed rotating process equipment.
Experience in the operations and maintenance of processing facilities.
