Position Purpose:

The Plant Operator II is responsible for receipt and process of clinical waste on site. Handles the waste operating equipment when required.  The Plant Operator II ensures the plant is constantly complying with safety standards and operating in the most efficient and profitable way.

Key Job Activities:

Manage hazardous waste acceptance into plant.

Transfer, sort and weigh clinical waste within the facility.

Log all accepted waste into Stericycle's waste tracking software.

Ensure all necessary paperwork is present and complete, in line with company and legal requirements.

Ensure all bins are clean, working (e.g., wheels/locks) and ready for customer use.

Loading of bulk clinical waste trailers and containers for dispatch.

Unloading and loading of stock and/or waste from vehicles using Forklift Truck.

Be available to work in other parts of the plant as necessary.

To assist in the training of new plant operators.  Supporting new plant operators.

Be available to work additional hours if necessary.

Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures.

Observe Health & Safety rules and work to maintain a safe working environment.

Education:

Required Education:  High School or equivalent.

Experience (EMEAA):

At least 2 years’ experience in industrial environments, preferably waste management. forklift operator training, experience in handling equipment on-site.

Required:  Manual Handling training, trained in handling chemical waste, forklift training/licence.

Physically fit.

Good communication skills.

Basic computer literacy skills.

Ability to work alone or as part of a team
