Compensation:
Starting salary: $71k - $81k DOE
Position Purpose:
To maintain all plant equipment in proper operating condition by utilizing preventive maintenance programs, correct maintenance procedures and safe workplace practices throughout the plant. Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) directives, permit compliance, productivity, cost reduction, care of equipment and paperwork completion. Administration-Efficiency rating 95% run rate
The able to create projects/use project management skills. Concentrates on mentoring and career development for team members.
Key Job Activities:
• Maintains equipment files, inventory and manages the purchase and/or re-supply of components as necessary to complete assigned duties. Works with outside machine vendors as necessary to acquire fabricated parts
• Maintains all preventative maintenance programs by identifying equipment malfunction, generates work orders, determines proper repair procedures and assigns tasks to staff member. Documents all findings on schedule and prioritizes tasks based on findings and results
• Responsible for overseeing all emergency and after hour repair tasks
• Assists Mechanics, Operators, Electrical workers, and Laborers as needed with in-house repairs
• Oversees outside contractor’s work, when applicable
• Complete regulatory paperwork and submit completed reports when necessary in accordance with regulatory compliance timelines
• Resolve compliance, maintenance, and team member issues through effective communication
• Selects, trains, coaches, mentors and develops an effective, efficient, qualified, diverse workforce staff
• Utilizes inventory management system, computerized maintenance management. systems as well as other electronic systems including purchasing, keep logs of maintenance tasks, inventory number, and handles budgeting responsibilities
• Performs highly diversified duties to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment. Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters, and other equipment as needed
• Maintain training, procedures, and documentation for the following:
o LOTO
o Confined space
o Electrical safety awareness
o Equipment safety inspections
o Hot work permits
o Annual safety trainings
• Oversee all annual inspections and calibrations:
o Boiler inspections
o Wastewater inspection
o USDA certifications
o Washer calibrations
o Autoclave calibrations
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Experience:
• Associates degree or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience (i.e. hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical, pumps and plumbing) or related field experience
• 4 years supervisor experience
• 2,000 hours equipment/external training/certificate/license/Management Training (Level 2)/In-house learning journeys recommended
• Six Sigma work/certificate a plus
